James 5:13-18

As we wrap up our James series, Kimbal speaks into what prayer is for the body of Christ.

James 5:1-12

Who do you represent? Lane brings this question to the front of this passage. In this large chunk of scripture, James covers ideas surrounding human dignity, the rich oppressing the poor, and patience in suffering and oaths. Lane dives into each of these topics and shows us how a gospel-centered worldview changes everything.

James 4:13-17

What is your life? This self-reflective question is in the center of this text that James has written. Diving deep into this passage, Carson shows us how the readers, including ourselves, tend to Presume Gods will. And how we need to move from not only knowing Gods will but, most importantly, submitting to His will.

James 4:1-10

In this message, Kimbal reveals the DESIRES that wage war within us, the DECISION that means getting off the fence, and the DECLARATION that says YES to God and NO to sin and the devil.

James 3:13-18

James starts off this section with a rhetorical question: 'Who is wise among you?'. Which sets the tone for the rest of this chapter. Wisdom is shown to be found in two very contrasting places. One is from the world (Pseudo-Wisdom) While the other is true wisdom found in God alone. Weaving Proverbs into the mix,  Kimbal gives us an overview on the characteristics of a wisdom filled life, challenges us on where we each find our wisdom, and leaves us with a question we should be asking ourselves daily.

James 3:1-12

James 3:1-12 holds no real surprises for us. The “tongue” or specifically the words we say have impact, for good or evil. We know the damage that people’s words have done in our lives and we know where things we have said have hurt others. Kimbal shares how our words are a barometer of our spiritual life and while “no man can tame the tongue”, we can surrender to the Holy Spirit’s transforming work in our heart and  consequently, our words will reflect that change. 

James 2:14-26

Belief in God- even the demons have it. What sets saving faith apart is good “deeds” that are the fruit of our faith. Listen as Brian Cool from Compassion Canada draws out the real life faith in action of Abraham and Rahab, a faith THAT WORKS!
